CFAO Healthcare accelerates its expansion in Lusophone Africa with the acquisition of Medimport, a pharmaceutical distributor in Mozambique
Maputo, November 29, 2024 – CFAO Healthcare, a division of the CFAO Group, announces the acquisition of Medimport, one of Mozambique’s leading pharmaceutical distributors, from the Portuguese laboratory BIAL. This operation marks a significant step in CFAO Healthcare’s development strategy, consolidating its presence in the Portuguese-speaking countries of the African continent.
This acquisition is part of CFAO Healthcare’s strategy to expand access to high-quality medicines in Africa. Present in 22 African countries, CFAO Healthcare specializes in the manufacture, distribution and supply of pharmaceutical and medical products, as well as related services. With its move into Mozambique, the division strengthens its presence in Portuguese-speaking Africa, where it already operates in Angola.
